Camella J. Ford (Manzo), 81, of Providence, passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, she was the wife of the late William J. Ford, the daughter of the late Nicola and Nicoletta (Colafate) Manzo and the sister of the late Joseph Manzo.

Well known to generations of Providence families, Camella retired in 2010 after working for 43 years as a pediatric medical assistant for Doctors Lampal and Montgomery on the East Side. An active member of the Rhode Island Medical Assistants Association, she bowled for over 30 years in the association’s bowling league and enjoyed many wonderful times with her friends. She was a team member of the 1969 league champions. A devoted mother and grandmother, Camella was a wonderful cook and loved preparing and sharing Sunday dinners with her family. Her biscotti recipe, a family favorite, has been published in over a dozen languages and enjoyed around the world. A lifelong Catholic, she was a parishioner at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Providence.

Camella is survived by a sister, Natalie Taylor and a brother, John Manzo, both of Massachusetts; three daughters, Bertha Ford of North Providence, Elizabeth Hardy of Coventry and East Longmeadow,Massachusetts and Corinne Pezzelli of Narragansett, also sons-in-law, Mark Hardy and Peter Pezzelli. She was a doting and loving grandmother to four grandchildren, Cara DelSesto, Tina Celeberto, Andrew and Gabriella Pezzelli and a great-grandson, Evan DelSesto.

Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Academy Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
