Burl J. Dawson, 87, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Louise (Parisi) Dawson. Born on Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Burl and Lillian V. (Fontoni) Dawson.
Burl retired from Uniroyal in Providence after which he was employed at Fatima Hospital. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Besides his wife of 65 years, he is survived by two sons, Burl J. Dawson, Jr. and Roy L. Dawson; a daughter, Barbara West; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Frank and Jack Dawson and Lillian Allard.
Visitation at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, Wednesday morning from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Please omit flowers.
