Beverly Rossi

BEVERLY ROSSI (GORMAN), 82, of North Providence, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Gene A. Rossi Sr., PhD. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Beatrice V. (Moran) Gorman.

Mrs. Rossi was a 1951 graduate of Sacred Heart High School and a 1955 graduate of Rhode Island College. She began her school teaching career in the Pawtucket School System where she worked from 1955-1958. She was a substitute in the Providence School System from 1972-1977 and taught 3rd grade at St. Philips School in Greenville from 1977 until her retirement in 1998. Mrs. Rossi was a communicant of St. Augustine Church. She was a resident of North Providence since 1963 and in 2013 also become a resident of Bay Spring Village in Barrington.

She was the devoted mother of Dr. Michael G. Rossi and his wife Dr. Monica L. (Warhaftig) Rossi, Gene A. Rossi Jr. and his wife Susan J. (Cotoia) Rossi, Elizabeth R. Simeone and her husband Joseph G. Simeone and John M. Rossi. Loving grandmother of Jacob and Sophia Rossi and Marissa, Joseph and Nicholas Simeone. Dear sister of Carolyn M. Gorman and Irving X. Gorman and his wife Mary. Sister-in-law of Marie and Richard Bennett.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Interment will be in Mount St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. VISITATION Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Rossi’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
