Betty F. Marotto (Waits), 75, of Providence, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Frank Marotto. Born in Alabama City, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” A. Waits and Russie (Kerr) Waits.
Betty had been a banquet waitress at Lincoln Park and had previously worked for the former Colonial Hilton. A Marine Corps Veteran, she was a member of the Women Marines Association.
Besides her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her daughter, Patty Maiorisi and her husband Steven and two grandchildren, Michael and Kaitlyn Maiorisi, all of Greenville. She was the sister of the late Donna Jean Hoerter.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, November 19th at 8:15 am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. VISITATION TUESDAY 4 – 7 pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Philip School, 618 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, RI 02828 or to Paws Watch Feral Cat Rescue, PO Box 3711, Newport, RI. 02840.
