Bernardino "Benny" Petreccia

Bernardino Petreccia "Benny", 87 of North Providence, passed away Thursday December 15, 2011 at Miriam Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Riccardi) Petreccia. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Carmine and Concetta (Fargnoli) Petreccia.

Benny was an organic chemist who graduated from Brown University and worked at Colfax Packing Company for over 30 years. He was very interested in international and domestic politics as well as the Stock and Bond markets. An avid soccer fan who was especially interested in the Italian team and his team was Juventus.

Besides his wife of 59 years, he leaves a son, Dr. David Petreccia and his wife Maryl, a daughter, Tina Petreccia and two grandchildren, Brian and Anthony Petreccia.

His funeral will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 9 am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Anthony Church, Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 p.m.. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
