Audrey "Lizzie" E. Lyon

Audrey E. “Lizzie” Lyon (Sherman), 73, of Johnston, passed away Monday, October 12, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Lyon. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Audrey D. (Sullivan) Sherman.
Lizzie loved her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed the Christmas Season. She also loved singing and going to Twin River Casino.
She leaves two sons, William J. Lyon, Jr. and Chester Lyon; eight daughters, Charlene Donlin, Diane Zinno, Betty Jimmis, Vera Ereio, Carol Lyon, Audrey Messier, Melody Wade and Pat Lyon; a brother, Frederick Sherman; a sister, Lucille Bickneil; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Charles Lyon and the sister of the late Robert, Daniel, Morris and Charles Sherman, Ester Dionne and Vera Sherman.
Her Funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Service at 11 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, Johnston. VISITATION Thursday 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of RI, 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906.
