Antonio J Scavitti

SCAVITTI, ANTONIO J. “Tony”, 84, of Pond View Dr., Coventry, formerly of Fairview St., Providence, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Kent County Hospital in Warwick. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Ruggieri) Scavitti. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Josephina (Caliri) Scavitti.

Tony had worked at his brothers seafood business, the former Seaside Fisheries of Warwick until retiring in 1985. He was a Coast Guard Veteran of WWII and was a devoted husband and father.

He leaves a son, Anthony J. Scavitti and his wife Nancy and a sister, Frances Ruggieri. He was the brother of the late Joseph Scavitti and Philomena Della Grotta.

The funeral will be held Saturday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Ave., Providence. VISITATION Friday 5-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
