Antonio Barletta, 89, of Providence, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Ida A. (Iascone) Barletta.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Giovannina (LoBello) Barletta.
Antonio had worked for Uniroyal and Paolino Properties before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Anthony Council and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Antonio was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Besides his wife of 58 years he is survived by a son, John F. Barletta and his wife Ingrid; two daughters, Jane B. Farrell and her husband George and Judith Spinella and her husband David; seven grandchildren, Brianna, Jordan, Gianna, Alexandra, Lauren, David, Jr. and Isabella and a sister, Concetta Abbate. He was the brother of the late Alphonse Barletta and Alexander Loffredo.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m.from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 100 Chatham St., Providence. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
