Anthony L. Palmieri

September 16, 1921 — November 11, 2012

Anthony L. Palmieri, 91, of Providence, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of Yolanda “Viola” (Magno) Palmieri and the son of the late Raffaele Palmieri and Filomena (Patoto) Palmieri.

Anthony was Director of Redevelopment for the City of Pawtucket. He was Past National Vice President of the F.O.P.A. and was an Air Force Veteran of WWII. He was an avid golfer.

Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by two sons, Anthony Palmieri and his wife Dianna and Leonard Palmieri and his wife Patricia; a sister, Angelina D’Andrea; four grandchildren, Sgt. Joshua Palmieri, US Marine Corps, Jonathan Palmieri, Jeremy Palmieri and Jennifer Palmieri and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Emma.

Visitation Wednesday morning, November 14, 2012, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or to New Hope Shelter of Pawtucket, 183 Barton St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
