ANTHONY M. D'AREZZO, 44, of Warwick, formerly of Johnston, passed away Friday, July 21, 2006, at the 2006 NPC Masters National Bodybuilding Championship in Pittsburgh, PA. Born in Providence,RI. He was the son of Anthony A. and Maria A. (Mansi) D’Arezzo. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Paul A. D’Arezzo and his two sisters, Julianne Iasimone and Kristen M. Bottoni, and six nieces and nephews.

Anthony began his career at Johnston High School holding several titles in wrestling. He was a 1985 graduate of Boston University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. Anthony was all New England in wrestling during his college years. After graduating from Boston University, he worked as an Exercise Physiologist at the Rhode Island Chiropractic Pain Control Clinic in Johnston. In 1998 he won the AAU title of Mr. Rhode Island and was the NPC Greater Providence Bodybuilding Champion. In 1992 he competed in the American Bench Press Championship Open and bench-pressed 570 lbs., a R.I. State record. In 1993 at the Massachusetts Gold Classic Championship Anthony was the Mens Overall Winner. He was nationally ranked in both bodybuilding and powerlifting. He was a personal trainer at Golds Gym in Pawtucket and Cumberland for the last 10 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Cross Church, Hartford Ave., Providence. VISITATION Thursday, 4-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anthony's name may be made to American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220.
