Anthony DeAngelis, Jr.

November 7, 1925 — December 8, 2012

Anthony DeAngelis, Jr., 87, of Providence, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Pieranunzi) DeAngelis. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Mildred (Gemma) DeAngelis.

Anthony was a printer for Rich Box Company. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of VFW Post 172 and the Combat Infantry Association. He was a Little League manager and founder of the Olneyville/Federal Hill Little League and he was an avid NY Yankees fan.

Besides his wife of 61 years, he leaves a daughter, Dorothy Ann DeAngelis; two sons, Anthony DeAngelis III and his wife, Sandra and Robert W. DeAngelis; a sister, Rose Bucci and four devoted grandchildren, Robert A. DeAngelis, N’Italia DeAngelis, Stephanie DeAngelis and Sara DeAngelis.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Hartford Ave., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Holy Cross Church Memorial Fund, 18 King Philip St., Providence, RI 02909.
