Anna M. Colannino

COLANNINO, ANNA M. (MOGATTI), 94, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. She was the wife of the late Amedeo “Aime” Colannino. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Giovannina (Zincone) Mogatti.

Before retiring, Mrs. Colannino was the office manager for 23 years for her son, Dr. David Colannino of Greenville Foot and Ankle Specialists. Previously, she was executive assistant to the president of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. She was a member of the Salvatore Mancini Resource and Activity Center and a communicant of St. Augustine Church.

A loving mother, she is survived by her devoted son, David M. Colannino and many nieces and nephews to whom she was a beloved aunt; Gail (Sherman) Danolowicz, Jane (Sherman) Murray, Robert DelDeo, Frank DelDeo, Guido Sarcione, Grace Colannino and Anna Colannino. She was the sister of the late Gloria Sarcione, Eva DelDeo and Inez Sherman and the aunt of the late Joseph W. Sherman III.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday MORNING, April 6, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Colannino’s memory may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence RI 02904.
