Anna F. Amitrano

Anna F. (Proia) Amitrano, 95, of Johnston, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Cherry Hill Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Amitrano.

Mrs. Amitrano was the owner and operator of Lori-Ann Beauty Salon in the City of Providence for many years before retiring at the age of 74. She was a member of the Catholic Women League at Holy Ghost Church. Anna also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and going to the casinos.

She was the loving mother of Lori Salvadore and her husband, David; proud grandmother of Joseph Salvadore and his wife, Francesca, as well as Lorin Salvadore. She was a loving great grandmother to her most cherished great grandson, Nico David. She was the sister of Phyllis Proia and was predeceased by her siblings, Americo Proia, Guido Proia, and Norma Maddalena.

Visitation will be held Friday Morning, September 23, 2016 from 8 – 9:15 a.m. at the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Amitrano’s memory may be made to Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave., Providence, RI 02909.
