Angelina “Angie” Lombardi (DiDonato), 87, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Lombardi and the mother of the late Carol Ann Lombardi. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Amato “Pasquale’ and Christina ( Torromeo) DiDonato.
Angie was a Kindergarten School Teacher for 40 years at Holy Ghost School in Providence and was the co-owner of Lion Cleansers. She was a long time member of Holy Ghost Church where she was active in various woman’s groups. She attended Fruit Hill Day Care Center.
She leaves her son, Valentino D. Lombardi, Municipal Court Judge, Town of North Providence and his wife, Linda Ann; a brother, Robert M. DiDonato; three sisters, Nellie DiDonato, Brigida Supino and Eleanora Ravo; five grandchildren, Tammy Ann Andreozzi, with whom she lived, William Volpe, Valarie Angelone, Nicole Graham and Joseph Lombardi and ten great grandchildren.
Her Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of Mankind Church, Fourth St., North Providence. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Fruit Hill Day Care Center, 399 Fruit Hill Ave, North Providence, RI 02911.
