Angelina "Angie" Phillips

September 25, 1923 — October 28, 2011

Angelina “Angie” Phillips (Vispo), 88, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the beloved wife of Elmer Phillips. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Mancini) Vispo.

Angie was a hairdresser at Lapham Beauty Shop for over 40 years. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and Confirmation Teacher at Blessed Sacrament Church.

Besides her husband of 44 years, she leaves two daughters, Ann Marie Levy and Donna M. Barlow; a sister, Carmella Vispo; three grandsons and two great grandchildren. She was the foster mother of the late Joseph St. Laurent and the sister of the late George, Mario, Armando, Vincenza and Muffalda Vispo.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 5- 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 or to Fruit Hill Day Services for Elderly, 399 Fruit Hill Ave., North Providence, RI 02911.
