Alfred A. Russo, 85, of Providence, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006, at home. He was the beloved husband of Marie (DiMonti) Russo. Born in Hoboken, NJ, he was the son of the late Antonio and Matilda Russo.
Alfred had worked as a meat boner for Lovitt Beef of East Providence for over 25 years and later for A.J. Martin of Warwick until his retirement. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Ghost Church and served as an usher at the church.
Besides his wife of 61 years, he leaves a son, Anthony V. Russo; a daughter, Claire A. Russo; a sister, Helen DiStefano; two grandchildren, Erik A. Russo and Kristen Jennings and a great grandson, Jared Jennings.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. VISITATION Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Ghost Church, 472, Atwells Ave., Providence, R.I. 02909.
