Albert Carbonetta, 100, of Narragansett, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at RI Veterans Home in Bristol where he received excellent care. He was the beloved husband of the late Michelina “Peggy” (DiNuccio) Carbonetta. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Luigi Carbonetti and Matilda (Bucci) Carbonetti.
Albert was a Tool Maker with Imperial Knife. A WWII Army Veteran, he served with the 83rd Division and took part in the post Normandy invasion. He was also a member of American Legion Post 64.
He is survived by his niece, Linda Grimo Maynard; a nephew, Michael Grimo; great nephew, Paul Maynard and his wife, Shannon; great-great niece, Julianna and great-great nephew, James. He was the brother of the late Thomas and Alfred Carbonetta and Julia Grimo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Ave., Barrington. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery in Barrington.
