Abel W. Almeida, 84, of Providence, passed away Monday, May 10, 2010 at Roger Williams Medical Center. He was the husband of Josephine (Santopadre) Almeida. Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Abel J. and Esther (Suarez) Almeida.
Abel worked as a Textile Printer for Cranston Print Works. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, David Almeida; his daughter, Patricia Murray and her husband, Mark; two sisters, Alice Silva and Dorothy Briganti; two grandchildren, Jonathan Murray and his wife Jasmine and David Almeida, Jr. and a great granddaughter, Arianna Murray. He was the brother of the late May Deandrea.
Visitation at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence Wednesday morning from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
