Col. Rosindo E. Caldarone, Jr.June 20, 2017
Col. Rosindo E. Caldarone, Jr., 82, of Fort Pierce, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Indian River Medical Center in Floirda. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Rosindo E. Caldarone, Sr. and Antonetta (Lombardi) Caldarone.
Colonel Caldarone spent his career as a distinguished member of the United States Army. He served as Chief Logistics Officer for the National Guard Bureau at the Pentagon in Washington, DC and was a ROTC instructor in Delray Beach, Florida before retiring. He was a recipient of the Rhode Island Star and is honored on the Wall of Fame at Camp Varnum in Narragansett. He was a graduate of Indiana University and Harvard Business School.
He is survived by his sister, Angela Bailey; a brother, Alfred Caldarone and his wife Arline; and many children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his close and dear friend, Ginny Miller.
His funeral will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 8:45 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, 927 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Interment with Military Honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Sunday 4 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Col.
